Aequinoctium is a belated celebration for the turning of the seasons, Autumn Equinox.

Aequinoctium boasts some of the most beautiful scenery to date, with rolling hills and native bush set in the surrounding cliffs.

Providing two musical zones, featuring some of the best DJ's in the south Island, and a tribal fire to keep you warm while you allow your feet some reprieve after a night of dancing.

A long drive, down an almost concealed entrance lead us to the site of Aequinoctium.

Again we were very lucky in the generosity of the landowner, and graciously thank him for the use of his land!

Wasn’t it spectacular!

It is always hard to imagine what our efforts will unfold into as we’re setting up marquees and stringing lights, but as the sun goes down everything illuminates.

Transforming a working paddock into a magical experience is always an experience within itself, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the efforts put in by the crew and volunteers alike.

There is no saying what would happen without you.

Although the night was eventful, with a side show being put on by the landowners sun just before midnight, everyone I came across in my journey’s around the site were dancing and laughing, making memories and intermingling with previous strangers.

And what else is this about? The coming together of people from all places for the joint love of music and dance.

Oh, right. It’s about the music.

Did I see a time when the dance floor was not full of people? Even as the frosts set in and the sun began to rise, dedicated party goers were still there, shedding layers and dancing their way into the next day.
And as the sun rose, oh what a sight to behold! People climbing hills and trees in order to catch only the best view of the rising sun.

What more could we ask for?
